AI Art Gallery, 'AIA' Engineer展 #03

AI Art Gallery, 'AIA' Exhibition #03

Engineer 展

-

The idea that the future is depicted by self-driving cars technology, robots, and artificial intelligence, often amazes us as if we find it magical. And now we have engineers who show us the beauty visualized by computer algorithms. Whatever the engineers create in 2020 will be a technological art, and at the same time an artistic technology.

- a science fiction writer, Arthur C. Clarke (1917~2008) -

‘AI ART GALLERY, AIA’ is an art platform established under the motto of ‘AI X HUMAN’, which means co-existence between AI and humans. This exhibition, as an extended version of Preview 1 and 2, introduces works by engineers who are far from well-structured art education or brushwork. Their colored-artworks, such as landscapes, portraits, and abstract paintings, are not much different from the artistry in the sense that you can still find conventional aesthetics and philosophy there. In a way, the most amazing art of the 21st century created is not too much to say “technology”.

For this exhibition “‘Engineer展”, three Korean engineers are selected, who embody technology-based works in the art.

Chae Seok Lim, Joo Haeng Lee, and Sae Ok Kim joined in this exhibition and put different technologies and art philosophies into the canvas.

Just as the old scholars used to learn writing with brush and ink, then they also applied it to their paintings and poetries, modern engineers learn AI and produce artworks by code. Through this exhibition, you will be able to see the perception of now extended to visualization and look at the aspect of contemporary art that has opened the door to new experiments with the advent of AI technology.

We dedicate Engineer 展 - Preview Extension to all engineers who currently devote their passion to AI research.
